FIT IS KING
Let’s cut to the chase – fit is king. Getting clothes in the right fit is important because a well-fitting suit, dress shirt or pair of trousers makes you feel comfortable, smart and confident. And fit spells the difference between a sloppy look and polished look.

SLIM FIT
The main difference in the various types of fit is the amount of fabric used in the clothing. The slim fit fits the body closely and comfortably. It is a good choice for men whose body type is lean and slim, with narrower shoulders and chest. It’s snug through the shoulders, chest, arms and thighs. Jackets and shirts are fitted through the waist while trousers are neat through the seat and taper towards the ankle to skim the top of your shoe. For many brands, the slim fit is usually the tightest fit available and offers little allowance for tailoring down.

TAILORED FIT
The tailored fit is an overlap between the slim fit and the classic fit. It’s cut to define your shoulders, chest, arms and thighs but leave enough room to move with ease. It offers a little bit more fabric so it doesn’t cling as closely to the body as the slim fit does. Jackets and shirts are tapered through the waist while the trousers are defined through the seat with a tapered leg that sits on top of your shoe. The tailored fit is great for men with athletic or average physiques. Another advantage of the tailored fit is that it has allowance for further tailoring, so you can take it to your tailor who can work their magic to make sure that it fits you perfectly.

CLASSIC FIT
Looking for more room and an easy fit or if you have a rounder body type and you feel that a tailored fit just won’t do, go for a Classic fit. Full fit dress shirts or suits usually offer an A-line silhouette that is more comfortable and flattering for men who carry more weight. Jackets and shirts are lightly shaped through the waist while trousers are slightly fuller through the seat and thigh to hang smoothly. Classic fit is also known as the comfort fit, full fit or relaxed fit by other brands.

1 / HEIGHT
Without shoes stand up straight with head facing forward and arms to the side. Measure from the top of the head to the floor. The person’s height will determine short, regular or long fitting.

155cm (5’1) – 170cm (5’7) Short

170cm (5’7) – 183cm (6’0) Regular

183cm (6’0) – 198cm (6’6) Long

2 / CHEST
Place the tape well under the arms, straight across the back, over the shoulder blades and over the chest, insert finger between tape and body and allow  freedom of fit. The measurement is taken with the coat off.

3 / WAIST
Place tape around body just above hip bones. Insert finger between tape and body and allow freedom of fit.

4 / NECK
Place the tape around the neck at the height the collar would if buttoned. Measure with the shirt collar unbuttoned. Insert finger between tape and body and allow freedom of fit.

5 / SLEEVE LENGTH
With the arms straight down at the sides, place tape at the seam where the shoulder meets the sleeve. Run the tape straight down to a point 2cm below the wrist bone. This measurement is taken with the coat on.

6 / LEG LENGTH
Stand with feet together and trousers up on the waist (the waist centres on the navel). Measure from the top of the waist to the floor without shoes on.

7 / SHOE SIZE
Please provide your shoe size and note whether it is US, UK or EUR. Please note a dress shoe size I 1 size smaller than a sneaker size.
